Charlotte and I had a fantastic time at Maritime Gloucester Heritage Day, with much, much climbing in and out of the giant lobster pot, seeing friends, art activities, exploring the touch tank, and getting to know a Boa Constrictor 🙂
Hosted by the Schooner Festival Committee and Lenny Linquata of the Gloucester House Restaurant, the schooner fest captains and crew members were treated to a delicious and hardy breakfast this morning. Originally offered for a modest price, a rousing cheer was heard when it was announced breakfast was courtesy of the Schooner Festival Committee!
Thanks to the Schooner Festival Committee and to all the volunteers for all they do to bring this glorious event to Gloucester!
Schooner Lynx Captains Alex and Donald Peacock, Captain Tom Ellis, Mike Costello, and Schooner Committee Chairperson Daisy Nell
The Mayor’s Schooner Festival Welcoming Reception was a fantastic success and wonderful fun. Maritime Gloucester’s dock was overflowing with Schooner Fest friends, well-wishers, and organizers. I think it was the most well attended ever and speaks to the growing success of Gloucester’s Schooner Festival (and to our Mayor’s charisma!).Mayor Sefatia welcomed Governor Baker, Lt. Governor Karen Polito, Schooner Bluenose II Captain Phil Watson and both Representative Ann Margaret Ferrante and State Senator Bruce Tarr were in attendance.
The Schooner Festival Committee is simply amazing. Below are listed the members of the committee. When you see any one of these super heroic volunteers around town, tell them thank you for the tremendous job they are doing in producing annually Gloucester’s uniquely beautiful and spectacular Schooner Festival.

A scholarship fund to benefit local students of the tourism and hospitality industry has been set up in memory of Kay Ellis, who worked diligently for many years on many tourism ideas and issues and helped elevate Gloucester as a tourism destination. She loved the maritime and hospitality business and she put her heart and soul into it, working with the Chamber of Commerce and Discover Gloucester, all the while promoting Schooner Lannon. We hope to share her vision through the scholarships
A pour of love turned out to honor Kay and start the scholarship fund.
Songs were written and sung in her name.

There will be cash bars on board, and light hors d’oeuvres will be available.
Anyone that went on our cruise last year knows it was one of the best nights of the summer. The tickets are $35 and include Two Old Cuban Cigar Co cigars which are valued around $10 each, Folly Cove Rum drinks from Ryan and Wood AND a sail aboard the Thomas E Lannon. All together it’s like a $85 value that you get for only $35. but you know what? Even if it was $85 I bet everyone that went last year would buy tickets again because it was THAT great a night.
So if you are one of my peeps, I want you aboard so we can hang smoking the finest cigars, drinking the finest rum and sailing aboard the most beautiful boat in all of Gloucester Harbor, the Thomas E Lannon.
Tickets are not going to last. Please if you know you are one of the people I like to hang with call Kay at the Lannon ticket office and reserve your spot so we can chillax together.
Call now 978-281-6634
I visited the coolest guy in Gloucester- Tom Ellis aboard the most beautiful boat in Gloucester- the Thomas E. Lannon yesterday (pictures and videos to come) but just to let you know that as of last night when the ticket office closed there was only 4 tickets left for our cigar and rum (and possibly some rye) cruise. So if you are one of my peeps- call (978)-281-6634 ASAP and reserve one of those 4 tickets!!!
You need to reserve it with a credit card so my advice would be to call, leave a message and have them return your call to reserve your spot!
If you lost your lunch box thingie off the back of your motorcycle near 128 and 133 interchange Tom Ellis at The Schooner Thomas E Lannon found it. If you can describe the contents you can go pick it up at & Seas Wharf where the Lannon ties up.
