Harry and The Potters This Friday, June 21st at 7pm Sawyer Free Library

Harry and the Potters.  They’ve been around for a while (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_and_the_Potters), and they basically started what people now call ‘Wizard Rock’.  They recorded their latest album last summer with Tony at Bang-A-Song Studios, and loved the town and everything so much that they’re kicking off their tour here with a free show at the Sawyer Free Library next Friday, June 21st at 7pm (which they announced in Rolling Stone).

https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/harry-and-the-potters-lumos-829736/

Because they write and perform songs about books (The Harry Potter series), they’re doing all sixty dates at libraries (https://www.harryandthepotters.com/shows).

ANYHOW, the library just got permission to have the show outside, and we really want people to come out and enjoy it.  I know Joey loves it when non-local people give it up for Gloucester, and these guys are definitely in that camp.  So, I’m hoping you can help me spread the word. We’re just really excited they’re coming!

Fly’s Musical Guests: J.B., DAVID
BROWN & BOBBY STANTON!

An unprecedented stage line-up on the books for this Wednesday’s Rhumb
Line show. In addition to legends of the land, J.B. Amero and the amazing
David Brown, we add 7-time Boston Music Award winning guitarist, Bobby
Stanton. J.B. and I go way back to the 70s with Bobby, who has played with
just about everyone under the sun – including James Taylor, Bo Diddley, The
Temptations, Martha Reeves, Noel Redding, and so very many more. It was
J.B.’s idea to put this one together – something I should’ve thought of a long
time ago. I am literally wild with anticipation for this incredible night of music.

First Friday with Big Ol’ Dirty Bucket!

Friday, April 26th, 2019, 7:00pm

Big Ol’ Dirty Bucket has taken the New England music scene by storm since their debut in 2009. The full size ensemble has redefined the sound of classic funk, by slathering it with hip-hop, blending it with flavors of jazz, blues, rock, soul.

Hailing from Boston, Big Ol’ Dirty Bucket is led by the triple-threat of velvet-voiced front-woman Kobi, emcee Micah Casey (a.k.a. “Big Daddy Disco”), and guitar slinger/vocalist Ryan Green (a.k.a “Funk McNasty”). The ferocious and relentless groove of the bands all-original funk music is driven by the the thunderous rhythm section of drummer Dave Share, bassist Joe Cesarz, and percussionist Jim Schunemann. The groups hard-hitting pocket sound is rounded out by Keyboard extraordinaire Scotty King, and a horn section anchored by saxophonist Matt Oliphant, trombone player Rich Houghton, and trumpeter Bryan McCulloch.
