Love at The Magnolia Community Farmers’ Market

On September 15, 2019 was the Magnolia’s Community Farmers’ Market last Sunday of this season.  It was so much fun and successful.  On Sunday the Cape Ann Animal Aid brought a beautiful puppy named Dobby.  Love this photo of the love that puppies can bring.  This little girl was adopted to her forever home.

Pet of the Week- Alina & Caesar

Alina & Caesar
Hi, my name is Alina and the big guy next to me is my best bud, Caesar.
Can you believe this is our second go around at finding our forever home? Change can be tough but we are hoping someone will have it in their heart to adopt us both as a bonded pair. We have been together for awhile now and we really believe that life is better together!
I am about 6 years old and tend to be the more reserved one. I like to take my time getting to know you, but once I do, I love attention and especially being brushed! The folks here always tell me how cute I am when I ‘give paw’ or run and do zoomies around the play yard.
Caesar is about 5 years old, and is the more outgoing one. He loves everyone he meets (dogs, people, you name it)! He is a great balance of energy and chill. He keeps me moving and makes me feel young and also safe.
We love exploring outside and resting in some snuggly beds . We are both crate trained, know ‘sit’, love car rides, and are just awaiting your arrival. We’d love to start our next chapter with you! We know that many people are looking to adopt puppies, but there are a lot of positives to adopting adult dogs, too.
In our previous home we lived with children and well…we have decided we prefer the attention on us , because of this we are looking for an adult only home. Because we are members of the extended stay club, our adoption fees have been reduced to help us find a home more quickly. Please consider coming to meet us. We’d love to meet you!

Pet of the Week- Auggie

Auggie 1

My name is Auggie and I am a special needs pup! Who doesn’t love an adorable pup?! I am a terrier mix just about 3 months old.

I have never met a toy I didn’t like, and I think running around and playing outside is pretty much the greatest thing since sliced bread. I have made many new dog and human friends here at the shelter, so that’s a lot of fun some have even taken me offsite and I loved It! What I think would be even better is having a home and family of my very own. Maybe you can help me out?

I’m what’s called a special needs adoption because I have a heart condition called pulmonic stenosis. I take medicine called atenolol every day and there are possible surgical procedures and continued diagnostics that we could explore together if we decide that is the route we want to take but for now I am enjoying being a puppy and hoping you will take a chance on me. The doctors estimate that without any correction of the defect I could start showing clinical signs, typically fainting at 5-7 years but it is hard to predict the future so I plan on enjoying every day to the fullest!

Pet of the Week- Mr. Buddy

Mr. Buddy

Mr. Buddy here, and I’m a handsome shepherd mix guy. I made my way to CAAA all the way from Texas where someone had dumped me. Luckily some nice people found me and took me in and fostered me until I was ready to make the journey north. I’m a social guy and I love people, and my foster says I get along well with other dogs. I wouldn’t do well in a home with cats because I want to play with them and that tends to freak them out. Other than that I’m pretty darn perfect. Don’t just take my word for it though, come find out for yourself!

Pet of the Week- Lady Gaga

Are you happy in this modern world? Or do you need more? Perhaps a kitty worth coming for? That’s me, Lady Gaga.
pet of the week lady gaga
I am more than ready to find a family who will let me settle in and love me forever. I promise with a little time I am sure to be a great companion I would do great in a quiet, low traffic home. I am still young at just over a year old and have plenty of personality to share. Come on by and meet me to see if I would be a good fit for your family!

Pet of the Week – Sonny & Cher

Sonny And Cher 1

Super duo, Sonny and Cher, here pleased to meet you! We are a sibling pair just over 11 months old. We are looking for a family to call our own! Are you in the market for two kitties? We love to play, sleep and spend time with one another so we are insisting on a home where we can stay together as a bonded pair. We are excited to spend our days in a cozy home, enjoying worry free living being pampered and played with, we sure love to investigate and play with toys. Did we mention no mouse will dare take up residence with us in the house? Stop by and meet us today!

Pet of the Week – Dover

dover 1dover 2
Hi, my name is Dover! I made my way to Cape Ann Animal Aid through Road Trip Home Rescue! I am a lucky guy and thankful for another chance. I was rescued from my home when my owner passed away.
The folks here think I have some Beagle and terrier in my family tree but no one knows for sure. I got to spend some time in foster, and my foster mom says I am a very sweet guy, and I like people and other dogs. I am very friendly and playful. I love attention, but I am also content to play alone with my toys. Sometimes I just like to sit with my foster mom and watch TV. The staff here say I am a sweet and energetic guy I am looking for that special family who wouldn’t mind providing love and care for me.
I am considered a special needs adoption because I recently underwent heart worm treatment. I will need to continue exercise restrictions in the future.

Pet of the Week- Tippy

Can you believe I have missed “Wheel of Fortune” four nights in a row so far? Disgraceful. Tippy here.
Tippy
I’m a sweet elderly lady who was brought to CAAA because my previous owner had passed away. I’m over the youngster stage and the night time zoomies phase of my life and would prefer a more quiet home (so I can hear my program). As a senior I am part of the Super Senior club and my super power is “faithful snuggle companion”.
Tippy2
Do you want a TV couch partner? We don’t have to watch “Wheel of Fortune”, I’ll settle for “Jeopardy” just fine. Come stop by and meet me today!

Pet of the Week – Arrow

Arrow
My name is Arrow, I am a sweet 6 month old Shepherd Mix looking for a family of my own. I came up to Cape Ann Animal aid through Road Trip Home Animal Rescue. I was picked up by animal control and brought to the shelter and never claimed. Everyone immediately fell in love with me.
I am a little reserved and like to take my time settling in and getting to know everyone, but once I do I love to be pet and fussed over! I am really smart and know some basic commands like sit, and lay down. Come by and meet me and see for yourself and maybe take me home while your at it! I would do best in a home with children 12 and up who can respect my space.

Pet of the Week- Natasha and Tamara

Natasha and Tamara here! We are sibling chihuahua mixes that made the journey to CAAA all the way from Puerto Rico! Why, you ask? Well, you see, there are many strays in PR and the chances of us finding homes there are pretty slim. So we flew north in pursuit of families!
We can both be a little bit timid with new people, but once we warm up to you we let our goofy and playful sides shine. The staff here say we are both lots of fun and we seem to go with the flow. Feel like going for a hike? Great, us too! Wanna chill on the couch and watch a movie? Sounds like a great idea!
If you’re looking to add a new canine addition to your life and are looking for someone on the smaller side, stop in for a visit and see if one of us would be a good match for you!

Pet of the Week- Mr. Beanz

mr beanz
Handsome, witty, and charming; Mr. Beanz is what my friends call me! I’m a single guy who is looking to change that. I’m intelligent (If I were a person, I would spend many hours a day reading by the fire in my home office, adorned with a silk robe and designer reading glasses propped low on my nose), gentle (I’ve never been known to so much as bat at a person. If I’m uncomfortable, I choose to take the high road and remove myself from the situation), and inquisitive (I find learning how the world works to be very intriguing, and make it my mission to gather as much knowledge as possible). I have also been working on honing my skills in regard to what you humans like to call “tricks”, such as “sit” and “high five” (Check out the video in my profile of me in action. Can anyone say instagram stardom here we come?!). I know I can learn more of these “tricks” if you’re willing to teach me.
As aforementioned, I’m the thinking type, and I REALLY like treats, so training me is a no-brainer. Being the wise gentleman that I am, I’m pretty willing to go with the flow. I like being around people, but I don’t crave constant attention (Eww, annoying! Don’t worry, I’m polite enough to know I’m not the only important thing in your world). I don’t mind the company of other cats one bit, so I can certainly be an addition to your feline collection. I’m always on the move, forever exercising my investigative skills. I promise there will never be a dull moment with me around. If you give me a loving forever home I promise to fill your days with entertainment and companionship. C’mon, help a single guy change his status. I really am quite the catch and I think you’ll agree.

Pet of the Week- Lottie

lottie.png

Hi there, my name is Lottie! I am a sweet girl who is a little over two years old. I made my way to Cape Ann Animal Aid with several other lucky pups looking for a home of my own. My foster mom cared for me for several weeks; I stayed with her in the country and I really enjoyed going for walks with her. She said I especially liked milk bones and my monkey toy!

lottie2

I am considered a special needs adoption because I recently finished up a course of treatment for heartworm. I will need to continue to be on an exercise restriction for a while and follow up with my new vet in the future.

Pet of the Week- Aphrodite

Who doesn’t need a little bit of Greek goddess in their lives?
Aphrodite 1
Sometimes affectionate, sometimes aloof, always able to entertain! I am sort of a one woman cat, I don’t like sharing my space so if you are thinking multi-cat household we won’t be the right match. If you are a one on one sort of pet family then let’s chat. I enjoy playing with toys, chasing feathers, batting around string, balls and pouncing on laser lights. I like attention but sometimes it can be too much and I can get overstimulated so some pats and scratches behind the ears and along the back of my neck is my idea of cuddle time.
aphrodite 2.png
You can see me getting cozy up against one of my favorite volunteers’ leg in my last picture. My idea of the perfect home would be one with sunny spots for napping, soft cozy places to curl up, and of course some loving humans to share my days with. Do you think you may be the one to give this lovely lady a second chance at love? Come on down and visit with me and see if we are a match made in heaven.

Pet of the Week- Marcellina

Hi, my name is Marcelina. The folks here are guessing I am a Siamese Mix about two years old. I am ready for a fresh start in life and to learn all the ups of indoor living.
Marcellina 1.png
I don’t ask for much in my new home. I would love a family who wouldn’t mind giving me a little time to settle in and explore. I am a fan of cozy beds, sunny windows and tasty treats. I am more on the mellow side and would prefer a low key, quiet home.

Pet of the Week- Peanut Butter

peanut butter

Peanut Butter is my name, loving is my game! I am a one year old torti girl who made my way to CAAA in search of a forever family. I am pretty outgoing and don’t mind being pet. I am more on the mellow side and you can often find my snoozing in a cozy bed. In a home I probably would enjoy a quiet space with a sunny window to watch the birds from or a cozy cat condo.
I am just ready to spend the rest of my days carefree and relaxed with my loved ones! Could it be you? Come meet me today!

Pet of the Week-Sage

sage
Super sweet, affectionate, and mellow your thing? I am the last of a litter of 7 loving, sweet puppies. I am a big lug of a puppy who thinks she should be a lap dog! I am a very good girl and the staff here says I am smart. I will tell you during the day I would like to go outside by whining just a little bit. I learned to sit very quickly and I am willing to try new things with a little gentle coaxing. My siblings and I are all very super gentle nature and sweet as can be. We get along well with other dogs and love to play. When out on a walk I watch my human for cues. I am getting used to riding in the car.
I am considered a special needs adoption because I have Osteochondritis dissecans – this is a disease that affects the cartilage of my joints. At this time I am pain free, but I need to have my exercise limited as I continue to grow. My new family will need to make sure they follow up with their own vet so I stay in tip top shape!
The folks here think we may have Hound, retriever or Bully breed in our family tree. I will likely be large to extra large size as an adult. Ready for a large puppy love in your life? Stop on in!

Pet of the Week- Gatolina

Gatolina

Gatolina is what I go by, but don’t worry, I’m not too attached to the name. I’m a super cute young lady with fluffy white and orange fur.

I am a rather petite gal, but don’t let my size fool you. My sweet personality more than makes up for what I lack in size. I take a little bit to warm up to you, but once I do I am a love.

I would most likely do better in a quieter household. I just want to spend my days doing the same old thing with the same old people. I like attention and petting on my terms, and will let you know when I’ve had enough by giving you a little love bite (it doesn’t hurt, I swear!).

I know once I get out of this stressful shelter environment my personality will really have a chance to shine. So what do you say, take a chance on me? To learn more about me or other animals waiting for homes, please come visit our shelter at 4 Paws Lane in Gloucester or check us out online at www.capeannanimalaid.org.

Pet of the Week-Shasta

Shasta.png

Hi my name is Shasta! I was a young mamma who had 6 beautiful babies. We all made our way here to CAAA to find homes of our own and they have all been adopted; now it’s my turn!

I am only about a year and a six months old, still have plenty of pep in my step. I would do well in a active home with a family that likes walks in the woods or adventures. I love to be around my people and I am sure to be a great loyal companion. I play with toys of all kinds and always have one in my mouth! One of my favorite games is playing fetch with tennis balls.

Stop in and visit me today if I sound like a good fit! To learn more about me or other animals waiting for homes, please come visit our shelter at 4 Paws Lane in Gloucester or check us out online at www.capeannanimalaid.org.

Pet of the Week-Max

max

Hi, my name is Max! The folks here are guessing I am a young guy somewhere between 8 months old to a year. I was found on my foster’s front porch one morning. The Humane Society in the area helped to get me to an animal hospital where I could be checked out. I lived in their home for about a month and my foster says I am a sweet and gentle dog.
I love to be around people and I follow wherever they go. I am still learning my house training manners and doing well. Although the foster family dog wasn’t fond of me, I seem to like to be around other dogs and I still wanted to be friends.
I am a lap dog so I hope you don’t mind snuggling now and again. I like to play ball and my favorite toys are squeak balls. I enjoy walking outdoors and do well on a leash. I am also learning to be accustomed to the crate when no one is home. If I sound like I might be a good fit for you and your family, stop by and visit me today!
