Lots of Talk About this Gillette Ad

On January 13th Gillette asked, “Is this the best a man can get?” as a spin on their long standing slogan “The best a man can get.”

Lots of talk last night and this morning about this Gillette Ad.  As is typical……it seems people are divided.  Some are applauding and some are boycotting.  Some are feeling vindicated some are feeling insulted.   Your thoughts?

Bullying. Harassment. Is this the best a man can get? It’s only by challenging ourselves to do more, that we can get closer to our best. To say the right thing, to act the right way. We are taking action at http://www.thebestmencanbe.org. Join us.

  1. Love the ad. And because I couldn’t wrap my head around how someone could call for a boycott of Gillette just for this simple ad, I clicked on a few “I’ll never buy Gillette again” people commenting on various newspapers on FB. Many of them seemed a bit off. Like, maybe not legit people but professional trolls perhaps (easy to spot: few friends, only one or two profile pics, few page likes, etc.).

    1. I clicked on it too and couldn’t understand how anyone would be outraged by it. My only thought was that it was fairly obvious in a “normal people get the golden rule” way and how I’m kinda tired of the men are inherently evil narrative.

My guess us that the reason Trump was elected is because middle aged white men are tired of hearing they are automatically evil because they’re white men. Also guessing there are a lot of non racist white people tired if the white guilt narrative.

I’m. Not a republican or a Democrat fir the record, just pointing out what I perceive
