Top Dog AND Beer….Does it Get Any Better?

I took an early morning drive to snap a quick photo of the new seating area at the Top Dog on Bearskin Neck this morning.  While there I had a nice little chat with the owner.  He told me, after inquiring about Joey, that they have a new yellow awning coming to shade the area I had just photographed…and, oh, the small fact that they’ll soon be serving beer.

I’m sorry if you don’t share my enthusiasm, but come on!  A loaded dog or fried clams, cheese fries, AND an ice cold beer on “the Neck.”  Quintessential Summer!

Evidently, for now, they’ll be serving Sam Summer, Harpoon IPA, hopefully some Cape Ann Brewing Company beers, and Switchback from Vermont.

Good times.

  1. The food is wonderful, the Lobster Roll among the best on Cape Ann, I did find the Lobster Roll a bit pricey. I have eaten here numerous times and I usually opt for the dogs which are the best

Sorry for the screaming but Hannah Jumper can kiss my ass homebrew would be the icing on the frosty beer.

Feather and Wedge soon to open … I think I need to reread the Tipping Point and enjoy this moment in Rockport history.

  3. Very nice and very inviting I had to do a look for IPA 1986, sorry after I left in 1968 west bound plus did not have on these classic beers plus I was a wee bit too young not that as a young teen we did not sneak a beer or two hiding up in the woods…had to wait hours before going home – needed a can opener in those days.

Too be honest I quit (Alcohol) in December 1992 but that’s just me, I guess you could say I loved my music more and for love of my wife and family, friends, faith! 🙂 Dave & Kim 🙂

Everything has a reason Foundation “Forgave “dad too that year too”…Only Never got to tell him moved on…
