  1. Just a quick note on the electricity price item.

    Look at http://www.iso-ne.com and you will see that there is no oil in the fuel mix. That’s because generally these days the internal hub price has to exceed $155/mwh for an extended period for oil units to be called upon to startup.

    Renewables tend to be expensive, nuclear is stable, but natural gas prices will rise during the winter when home and business heating demand for gas increases.

    Unfortunately, because coal plants (like Salem Harbor) are being forced to close, they are no longer available to take up the slack.

    If the load gets high enough, then oil units will be called on, hence the price increase.
